CLOS MANOU

By 4 July 2021October 26th, 2023No Comments

The Domaine du Clos Manou located in Saint-Christoly-Médoc, in the Gironde, produces excellent Bordeaux wines since 1988.

The work of the vineyard is carried out with the most natural methods possible, without the application of pesticides or herbicides, with a care and attention without equivalents.

To equip its winery and ensure the best vinification of its great Bordeaux wines, Clos Manou has trusted Nomblot. This is how the Domaine equipped its warehouse with ovoid concrete tanks model MC7 H1, one of the flagship models of the Nomblot wine tank catalog.

The egg-shaped concrete tank proposed by Nomblot offers many advantages during the vinification process, thanks to its shape and the materials used.

This way, the ovoid wine vat generates a natural vortex inside, that allows the lees to be kept in suspension at all times. The cellar master thus has no need to intervene for brewing or stirring, which frees him time for other tasks and ensures a natural winemaking.

Furthermore, Nomblot, has selected this particular material for its outstanding inertia properties. In fact, the concrete vats are preserved from sudden temperature changes that could alter the final quality of the wine.

Also, the concrete wine tank is subjected to a phenomenon of micro-oxygen: tiny air bubbles pass through the concrete tank and are added to the wine being vinified. Coupled with the constant natural rotation, this process allows to obtain softer tannins and obtain very aromatic wines.

Finally, the ovoid wine vat made of concrete don’t transmit any external taste to the wine, as it can be the case of vats and wooden cask. At the tasting, the aromas developed are therefore rawer, we find the taste of the fruit and the soil on which it grew.
