REALM CELLARS

Now established in place of the former Hartwell Winery, Realm Cellars produces some of the finest Nappa Valley wines in the United States.

The reputation of the Napa Valley, in Napa County, California, is highly regarded by lovers of fine wines. Today the valley is host to more than 500 wineries that produce some of the finest wines in the world. It has also been recognized as California’s premier American wine district. The Napa Valley benefits from a Mediterranean climate and a relief that is favorable for the cultivation of vines.

It is within this framework that the Realm Cellars estate cultivates Bordeaux grape varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, Sauvignon Blanc and Petit Verdot, among others. In order to further improve the quality of its production and to make the winemaking process as natural as possible, Realm Cellars has chosen to trust Nomblot, a French manufacturer of concrete tanks for wine.

Californian winery

This exceptional Californian vineyard has equipped its winery with truncated cone-shaped vats of low conicity for the vinification of its wines.

Nomblot’s concrete wine tanks have the advantage of promoting micro-oxygenation of the beverage. Tiny air bubbles will penetrate inside the truncated cone tank, which will help soften the tannins during vinification. The result is a very tasty wine with richly developed aromas.

Moreover, the shape of the truncated cone concrete tank and the slope at the bottom of the tank facilitate the draining of the wine at the end of the vinification and the cleaning of the vinification tank. In addition, the truncated cone-shaped tank designed by Nomblot is also used to store the beverage before bottling.
