Thanks to their special design with varying degrees of conicity, truncated cone-shaped tanks offer many advantages to winemakers.
In fact, a slight 5% slope at the bottom of the wine fermentation tank facilitates the draining and devatting of the beverage once the winemaking process is complete. In addition, the absence of corners in the wine tank also simplifies its cleaning, which is faster and more efficient.
The concrete vinification tank has physico-chemical properties that ensure micro-oxygenation of the wine during fermentation. This natural process will soften the tannins to obtain a rounder wine with concentrated aromas.
Furthermore, the concrete composing the Nomblot truncated cone vinification tanks offers excellent thermal inertia properties. Temperatures are therefore more easily controlled within the truncated cone tank during the winemaking process. An ideal asset for making red wines in large wineries, for example!
